Omarchy does do that. They host their own packaging servers, which they keep intentionally a month behind Arch's to catch broken packages. They ship a custom kernel. They have a small AUR-like extra repository as well.

They ship a custom kernel, have their own packaging servers, ship their own installer, an installable ISO, and ship a bunch of custom UI. That's a distro, all right. Not a foundational one a la Debian or Arch, but that's never been a requirement seeing how things like Ubuntu, Cachy etc. exist and are called distros without issue.
Omarchy started as a pile of dotfiles a year ago. It isn't that anymore, and DHH's intended direction is towards a fully independent foundation distro.
He's absolutely correct about the clown infestation, though.
eg. when Framework sponsored Hyprland and Omarchy (amonmg many other projects), a GNOME dev said the Framework people must contain Hitler particles ton even consider doing it.
Framework tried giving money to GNOME, they refused it.
Framework released a computer that ran Fedora KDE: Freedesktop.org Code of Conduct committee member starts crying about the fascism of it.
Omacom foundation is established:

The clown problem is real.
The sad part is that stuff like PostmarketOS is a really good idea.
The Paradox is invariably trotted out to justify political censorship far before Popper's own conditions, and frankly most often by some of the most close-minded people I've ever seen. Are they more accepting of some things than the people they want censored? Sure. But in most ways the Paradox people are hidebound bigots who demand everyone toe their lines and never demonstrate tolerance in its original meaning: Suffering the existence of that which you'd rather didn't exist.
Europe is a fractal mix of polities ruled by a constant flux of elected representatives, and consequently exhibits political behaviour from a wide range of constituencies. Each citizen agrees, presumably, with some policies and disagrees with others, then they vote as best as they are able - which is not very, since every large electorate in the world falls short of adequate political competence. Some of those people vote for authoritarians, which i consider a shame but which is also true in your closest democratic nation.
European citizen surveillance is something i oppose, but at least it's balanced by a robust bill of human rights. America's surveillance state does not have that balance, because America wrote a bill of rights but didn't bother with the follow-through.

I've liked Sony, myself, at least before they shit the bed with firmware. They stayed on better, and had better noise canceling. The transparency was a bit metallic. AirPods in comparison rely a ton on a tight fit for noise canceling, but the transparency is magic. Sadly, I'm more of a noise canceling user.
Also just having your stuff available on multiple devices, having it be easy to move devices, etc.
All that said, I don't like the deep desktop-OneDrive type integration, very much a clear, separate sync folders type person, even if I store a bunch of my stuff inside said folder. But Sync Service Kingdoms are to be very clear, it's the one way they will be ~99% benefit, 1% headache.
